Belmontes went into his next career fight with a record of 18-3-0 and took this to 19 wins with a win against Will Tomlinson on March 8th, 2014. A great showing of his boxing ability, Belmontes became the first person to beat Will Tomlinson, beating him over the 10 round distance resulting in a UD victory. Another 3 fights later and Belmontes took his record to 19-6-0 beating .
On June 20th, 2015, Belmontes took on and was defeated by Dierry Jean meaning his career tally went to 19-7-0. Outclassed, Belmontes took another loss as the judges awarded Jean the UD win on a great performance.
Taking another knock in his career, Belmontes fought Jason Sosa on August 15th, 2015 and was defeated by Sosa. Belmontes's 27 fight experience wasn't enough to prepare him for his most recent outing, Sosa outclassed Belmontes from the start and became the first to stop Belmontes in round 1 of 8 via KO. Belmontes looks to move on and rebuild from here.
