Next was Hugo Armenta on November 7th, 2009 where Jean took the win continuing his unbeaten streak. Jean's fight against Hugo Armenta came in the 5th round of a 8 round fight via RTD. Jean became the first person to stop Armenta. 5 wins followed where Jean went on to be the 5th person to stop Ryan Barrett, 7th person to stop Antonio Soriano and 11th person to stop Wilfredo Negron.
On October 26th, 2012 Jean fought and beat Ivan Cano (21-4-0) to continue his unbeaten streak. Cano was stopped in the 11th round via TKO crowning Jean as the first person to stop this opponent. Racking up wins against Cleotis Pendarvis and Juan jesus Rivera, Jean went on to fight and win these next 2 fights.
On January 25th, 2014, Jean took on and was defeated by Lamont Peterson in his first career defeat meaning his career tally went to 25-1-0. Taking the first setback of his career, the January 25th, 2014 Peterson defeat went the full distance and ended via UD. Fights against Daniel Ruiz, Carlos manuel Reyes, Jerry Belmontes and 1 other followed where he won all 4 fights taking his winning streak to 29 wins.
Taking a knock to his career, Jean fought and was defeated by Terence Crawford on October 24th, 2015 taking his record to 29-2-0. Jean was beaten by Terence Crawford in the 10th round. The win came via TKO in the 10th round. This was Jean's first stoppage defeat.
The wins continued with the defeat of Ricky Sismundo on May 13th, 2016 taking Jean's winning record to 29 wins. This was a step up in class but with an inconclusive ending, Ricky Sismundo went the distance with Jean over 8 rounds to a SD draw.
