Pushing his career further, Matano fought Jussi Koivula on February 7th, 2015 adding to his winning record. Matano's UD win against Jussi Koivula came via judges decision of a 12 round fight. Matano became the 2nd person to defeat Koivula and secured a great win.
Taking another knock in his career, Matano fought Julian Williams on March 5th, 2016 and was defeated by Williams. Matano struggled from the off with Williams, suffering his 2nd stoppage defeat out of 15 career fights. The latest loss on Matano's journey came via TKO in round 7.
