Tete went into his next career fight with a record of 23-3-0 and took this to 24 wins with a win against Victor Ruiz on June 4th, 2016. Becoming the 3rd fighter to stop Ruiz, Tete beat Ruiz via TKO in the 7th round of a 12 round fight.
Zolani Tete added another win to his record by beating Arthur Villanueva on April 22nd, 2017, upping his record to 25 wins. Tete became only the 2nd person to defeat Arthur Villanueva in his 31 long fight career, taking his win tally to 25 via the judges decision (UD, round 12).
