Early Career

Getting rid of his debut fight nerves early, Tete took on Andile Solani in May 2006 and claimed a stoppage victory (round 1, TKO). Tete was the first person to have ever stopped Solani. Following on from his debut, Tete continued his mostly successful career by fighting in a further 14 fights. In this time he fought Xolani Ntese, Francis Miyeyusho and Vicky Tahumil to name just a few, fighting 5 times in 2006, 3 times in 2007 and 6 times through 2008, 2009 and 2010 in this period.

Jose Gonzalez was the next fight for Tete on March 12th, 2016 and also his next career win. Becoming the first person to stop Jose Gonzalez, Tete beat Gonzalez via TKO in the 7th round of a 12 round fight.

Tete went into his next career fight with a record of 23-3-0 and took this to 24 wins with a win against Victor Ruiz on June 4th, 2016. Becoming the 3rd fighter to stop Ruiz, Tete beat Ruiz via TKO in the 7th round of a 12 round fight.

Latest Fight

Zolani Tete added another win to his record by beating Arthur Villanueva on April 22nd, 2017, upping his record to 25 wins. Tete became only the 2nd person to defeat Arthur Villanueva in his 31 long fight career, taking his win tally to 25 via the judges decision (UD, round 12).
