Taking another knock in his career, Raul Garcia was next in line for Asenjo with Garcia coming out victorious. Asenjo career was at 20-3-0 following the fight. Garcia proved to be the biggest challenge to date for Asenjo, Asenjo never really got going in the fight and Garcia handed Asenjo his first stoppage defeat in the 3rd round of a 12 rounder. 5 wins followed where Asenjo went on to be the 3rd person to stop Jade Yagahon (Round 4 KO), 5th person to stop Michael Borja (Round 1 KO) and 10th person to stop Arnel Tadena.
Asenjo kept his losses at 3 by beating Powell Balaba on October 11th, 2014. Asenjo secured the win over Balaba after the final bell via MD, resulting in Asenjo being the 13th person to defeat Balaba.
Rommel Asenjo went into his fight with Michael Rodriguez on June 26th, 2015 with 26 wins and he added another win to his record taking it to 27 wins by beating Rodriguez. Keeping his record on track, Asenjo showed his boxing ability in his most recent fight, taking Michael Rodriguez the distance and securing a UD decision victory in a 10 round fight.
