On July 13th, 2013, Gonzalez went into action again and beat Adrian Young taking the winning record to 23 wins. Gonzalez showed his superior boxing skills to become the first person to beat Young. The judges scored the bout in favour of Gonzalez by UD over the full 10 rounds.
On October 5th, 2013, Gonzalez went into action again and beat Hector Velazquez taking the winning record to 24 wins. Velazquez was a great challenge for Gonzalez, losing over the full 10 round distance and crowning Gonzalez as the 19th person to have defeated Velazquez.
Taking another knock in his career, Gonzalez fought Jesus Galicia on February 1st, 2014 and was defeated by Galicia. This bout proved to be the toughest of Gonzalez's 27 career fights to date. Galicia was too skilful and took 10 rounds to dispose of Gonzalez. This was Gonzalez's first stoppage defeat as he looks to move on and rebuild going forwards.
