Rice's technical boxing ability was put to the test as he got outpointed in the 3 round fight against the better man. Connor gave Rice his first professional loss of his 7 fight career to date.

The wins continued with the defeat of Pavels Senkovs on January 30th, 2014 in Rice's most recent fight taking his winning record to 8 wins. Rice became only the 67th person to defeat Pavels Senkovs in his 75 long fight career, taking his win tally to 8 via the judges decision (PTS, round 4).
