Carrasco proved to be no match for Purdy, and Purdy became the first person to stop Carrasco via TKO during round 4. Taking his record to 20-3-1. Purdy then went on to win his next fight against Cosme Rivera.
Purdy lost to Devon Alexander in his next fight. Taking place on May 18th, 2013, Purdy's career record after this fight stood at 20-4-1. Alexander was a fight too far for Purdy and after a rough fight Alexander became the first person to stop Purdy in round 7.
Purdy's next defeat of his career came against Leonard Bundu on December 14th, 2013. Left wondering where Purdy's career will go next, Bundu became only the 2nd man to stop Purdy in the 12th round of a 12 round fight.
