Pushing his career further, Heiland fought Mateo damian Veron on April 21st, 2017 adding to his winning record. Veron was stopped in the 8th round via KO meaning Heiland was the 5th person to stop this opponent.
Heiland's next defeat of his career came against Jermall Charlo on July 29th, 2017. Heiland never really got going in his latest fight vs Charlo. Charlo was the better man and became the first fighter to stop Heiland in a round 4 TKO shutout.
