Starting his career in June 2006 at the age of 18, orthodox boxer Leonardo Zappavigna has now been pro for 11 years and has built up a career of 33-2-0. Zappavigna now moves into the final stages of his career. Between June 2006 and October 2010, Zappavigna had his longest winning streak of 25 fights. In June 2006 Zappavigna faced Jason Schubert in his debut bout over 4 rounds, but only 1 were needed as Zappavigna became the quickest person ever to stop Schubert via a 1 round TKO victory. Zappavigna then went on to win his next 18 fights - fighting 6 times in 2006, 6 times in 2007 and 6 times through 2008 and 2009 racking up wins against Gairy St clair, Tommy Browne and Ryan Langham amongst others.
Furthering his career, Zappavigna fought Shane Kelly on November 24th, 2006 and advanced his winning streak to 5 wins. Zappavigna's fight against Shane Kelly came in the 3rd round of a 10 round fight via TKO. Zappavigna became the first person to stop Kelly. Zappavigna's win streak of 5 rose to 16 following 11 great wins, becoming the first to stop Ryan Langham, 2nd person to stop Junmar Dulog and 8th person to stop David Wiremu.
Next was Tommy Browne on December 5th, 2008 where Zappavigna took the win continuing his unbeaten streak. Becoming the 2nd fighter to stop Browne, Zappavigna beat Browne via TKO in the 6th round of a 12 round fight. 8 wins followed for Zappavigna including being the 2nd person to stop Ji-hoon Kim, 2nd person to stop Billy Sumba and 4th person to stop Thongthai Rajanondh.
Zappavigna went into his next fight against Miguel Vazquez on March 12th, 2011 with a career record of 25 wins. On March 12th, 2011, Zappavigna took on and was defeated over the distance by Miguel Vazquez in his first career defeat. Zappavigna lost via UD in a valiant effort.
Ammeth Diaz was next in line for Zappavigna where unfortunately, he was defeated on August 5th, 2011 taking his record to 25-2-0. Zappavigna's fight against Ammeth Diaz was Zappavigna's first stoppage defeat. This came via TKO in the 5th round of a 12 round fight. Fights against Rivan Cesaire, Shuhei Tsuchiya, James Armah and 3 others followed where he won all 6 fights taking his winning streak to 31 wins.
Thong Por chokchai was Zappavigna's next fight on September 19th, 2014 and also the next win in his career via KO. This took his record to 32-2-0 showing a mainly successful career to date. The 8 round fight ended in the 2nd round via KO crowning Zappavigna as only the 4th to stop Por chokchai in his career.
The wins continued with the defeat of Nestor Faccio on December 13th, 2017 in Zappavigna's most recent fight taking his winning record to 33 wins. Zappavigna beat Nestor Faccio in the 3rd round of a 8 round fight via TKO. Zappavigna was the 3rd fighter to stop Faccio.
