The first defeat of Valenzuela's career came against Maurice Hooker on August 22nd, 2014. This took his career record to 6-1-0. Valenzuela faced the first defeat of his career against Maurice Hooker in the 1st round of a 6 round fight via TKO.
Valenzuela lost to Emmanuel Robles in his next fight. Taking place on October 24th, 2014, Valenzuela's career record after this fight stood at 6-2-0. A valiant but fruitless effort for Valenzuela. Valenzuela fell just short and was defeated by Robles over the full 6 round distance.
On April 18th, 2015, Valenzuela took on and was defeated by Arturo Quintero meaning his career tally went to 6-3-0 A blow for Valenzuela confidence, Valenzuela was taken the full distance by Quintero and was handed a UD loss on the judges decision. A tough technical fight that leaves Valenzuela unsure on where his career will head next.
