Although beaten, James Stevenson has gained plenty of experience over 24 fights and a 8 year long career so far. He now moves on to see just how far he can go as he approaches the later stage of his career. Between September 2008 and March 2014, Stevenson had his longest winning streak of 21 fights. In his 24 fights, his longest KO streak is 8 fights long.
An explosive pro debut saw Stevenson face Dontre King in a 4 round debut fight. James became only the 2nd person to stop King shy of the full distance, stopping him in the 3rd. Continuing on from his successful debut, Stevenson continued his winning streak by winning his next 12 fights. In this time he fought and beat Manuel Guzman, Dwayne Shelton and Amos Collins to name just a few, fighting 5 times in 2008 and 7 times in 2009.
Next was Dwayne Shelton on April 30th, 2009 where Stevenson took the win continuing his unbeaten streak. Shelton was a worthy challenger but Stevenson was too much and became the first person to stop Shelton via TKO during round 2. 12 wins followed for Stevenson including being the 9th person to stop Sebastien Hamel, 2nd person to stop Joshua Robertson and 6th person to stop Dontre King (Round 1 KO).
Andre Baker was beaten next on March 1st, 2014 meaning Stevenson could maintain his unbeaten streak. Stevenson was the 12th person to stop Andre and he did it in the 3rd round via KO.
Taking the first knock of his career, Stevenson fought Sammy Vasquez on August 8th, 2014 and was defeated by Vasquez. Vasquez was a push too far for Stevenson and after a tough fight Vasquez became the first person to beat and stop Stevenson in round 9.
Roberto Garcia was next in line for Stevenson where unfortunately, he was defeated on April 24th, 2015 taking his record to 21-2-0. Outclassed, Stevenson took another loss as the judges awarded Garcia the UD win on a great performance.
The next defeat of Stevenson's career came against Ivan Golub on September 23rd, 2016. This took his career record to 21-3-0. A great performance by opponent Golub added a 2nd stoppage defeat to Stevenson's career. Stevenson was outmatched and the fight was brought to a halt in round 3 via TKO.
