Starting his career in September 2000 at the age of 20, orthodox boxer Felix Cora jr has now been pro for 14 years and has built up a career of 25-7-2. Cora jr now moves into the final stages of his career. He started his best winning streak on September 2000 however, this came to an end on August 2002. In this period he won a total of 10 fights.
An explosive pro debut saw Cora jr face Mitchell Seigrist in a 0 round debut fight. Felix became only the 4th person to stop Seigrist shy of the full distance, stopping him in the 2nd. Cora jr's rise in boxing continued with 17 fights against fighters such as Chris Thomas, Jermell Barnes and Michael Simms. He had a mixed start to his career but mostly successful so far.
Cora jr went into his next career fight with a record of 15-0-2 and took this to 16 wins with a win against James Elizalde on December 2nd, 2004. Cora jr's fight against James Elizalde came in the 6th round of a 12 round fight via TKO. Cora jr became the first person to stop Elizalde. Cora jr's winning streak went from 16 wins to 18 after he then defeated boxers including Darnell Wilson and Arthur Williams.
Taking another knock in his career, Vadim Tokarev was next in line for Cora jr with Tokarev coming out victorious. Cora jr career was at 18-1-2 following the fight. Vadim Tokarev became the first person to stop and also the first to defeat Cora jr. The win came via TKO in the 4th round of a 12 round bout.
Cora jr's next defeat of his career came against Matt Godfrey on April 6th, 2007 taking his career record to 18-2-2. Cora jr was beaten by Matt Godfrey in the 2nd round. Cora jr had only ever been stopped 2 times previously in his career. Cora jr then went on to win again against Joell Godfrey setting him up well for his next pro fight.
On January 28th, 2009, Cora jr took on and was defeated by Troy Ross meaning his career tally went to 19-3-2. Cora jr's fight against Troy Ross was Cora jr's 3rd stoppage defeat which came via TKO in the 1st round of the fight.
Andrae Carthron was Cora jr's next fight on March 28th, 2014 and also the next win in his career via KO. This took his record to 25-6-2 showing a mainly successful career to date. Carthron was stopped in the 2nd round via KO meaning Cora jr was the 4th person to stop this opponent in his career.
The next defeat of Cora jr's career came against Murat Gassiev on April 17th, 2015. This took his career record to 25-7-2. Once again Cora jr was in a tough fight, one that proved to be a step too far in Cora jr's latest fight. Opponent Gassiev fought well and was rewarded with a win, and crowned only the 4th man to stop Cora jr in the process. The fight ended in round 9 via TKO.
