Yamamoto was the 5th person to beat Kazuhiro Nakamura where he showed his talent as a technical boxer, beating him over 8 rounds in his 9th professional fight.
Yamamoto's next defeat of his career came against Go Odaira on September 24th, 2014. A blow for Yamamoto confidence, Yamamoto was taken the full distance by Odaira and was handed a UD loss on the judges decision. A tough technical fight that leaves Yamamoto unsure on where his career will head next.
