On December 15th, 2002 Kuma fought and beat Eiichi Sugama (24-2-0) to continue his unbeaten streak. Becoming the first person to stop Eiichi Sugama, Kuma beat Sugama via KO in the 9th round of a 10 round fight. Fights against Naoto Fujiwara, Yuji Gomez, Motokazu Abe and 1 other followed where he won all 4 fights taking his winning streak to 26 wins.
Unfortunately, the first defeat of Kuma's career came against Hiroyuki Enoki on September 4th, 2004 in Kuma's 27th professional fight. Kuma's fight against Hiroyuki Enoki was Kuma's first stoppage defeat of his career. This came via TKO in the 9th round of a 10 round fight. Kuma then went on to win a further 5 fights taking his record to 30 wins, 2 losses and 0 draw.
Furthering his career, Kuma fought Leopard Jockygym on November 11th, 2006 and continued his career to a record of 31-2-0. The win came via KO. Becoming the 2nd fighter to stop Jockygym in his career, Kuma beat Jockygym via KO in the 3rd round of a 8 round fight.
Kuma's next defeat of his career came against Yusuke Kobori on January 6th, 2007. Kobori turned out to be too much for Kuma stopping him in the 3rd. Showing that the time was right for Kuma to call it a day and retire.
