Although beaten, Victor Zaleta has gained plenty of experience over 25 fights and a 5 year long career so far. He now moves on to see just how far he can go as he approaches the later stage of his career. He started his best winning streak on April 2007 however, this came to an end on October 2010. In this period he won a total of 11 fights.
An explosive pro debut saw Zaleta face Alejandro Sosa in a 4 round debut fight. Victor became only the 14th person to stop Sosa shy of the full distance, stopping him in the 3rd. Zaleta's rise in boxing continued with 13 fights against fighters such as Oscar Arciniega, Jose antonio Aguirre and Eric Ortiz. He had a mixed start to his career but mostly successful so far.
Taking the first knock of his career, Zaleta fought Faustino Cupul on September 27th, 2008 and was defeated by Cupul. Coming into the fight with high confidence Zaleta fought his next fight against Faustino Cupul on September 27th, 2008. Unfortunately, Zaleta was outclassed and lost the decision on the judges scorecards taking his record to 6-1-0. Zaleta took on another 2 opponents next, racking up wins against Gilberto Keb baas and Oscar Arciniega.
Javier Romano was the next fight for Zaleta on May 23rd, 2009 and also his next career win. Showing his class against Romano, Zaleta was the 3rd person to go the distance with this opponent. Another win followed for Zaleta taking his win tally to 10 wins.
Keeping his losses at 1, Zaleta fought on October 17th, 2009 beating Ricardo Armenta via TKO. This took his record to 11-1-0 showing quite the successful career to date. Armenta proved to be no match for Zaleta, and Zaleta became the first person to stop Armenta via TKO during round 3. Fights against boxers including Daniel Noriega, Raul Hidalgo and Juan carlos Jacobo followed where he won 11 fights taking his winning streak to 20 wins.
Taking a knock to his career, Zaleta fought and was defeated by Leo Santa cruz on November 10th, 2012 taking his record to 20-3-1. Zaleta's fight against Leo Santa cruz was Zaleta's first stoppage defeat. This came via TKO in the 9th round of a 12 round fight.
Taking another knock in his career, Zaleta fought Carlos Cuadras on March 2nd, 2013 and was defeated by Cuadras. Zaleta struggled from the off with Cuadras, suffering his 2nd stoppage defeat out of 25 career fights. The latest loss on Zaleta's journey came via TKO in round 7.
